The Owl in the Roses
The sun rises over the distant eastern mountains, not a cloud in sight. People awake from their slumber and shuffle off to school, work, or for a day at the beach. All spend less than 2 hours preparing themselves for today. Fixing hair, taking showers, debating on what to wear, fretting about things that should be relatively easy to decide upon.
The old woman, with a full head of gray hair up in a bun, pulls on her jeans, slips on her light jacket, and steps into her old white tennis shoes before opening up her front door and beginning to shuffle carefully down the steps. She has her handy little shovel in one hand, and her new flower seeds
